The Peace Clock runs on an hourly rotation. That is : one rotation = 60 minutes. Prayer times are every 60 minutes on the hour. However it is designed so that all people, anywhere in the world will be viewing the clock with the exact same "time" and "countdown " until prayer time begins. This way, we will all be offering our hopes and wishes for world peace in unison.
The clock is not about running on "usual" time (As you can see, it has no numbers!). So, when the clock strikes the hour on the Peace Clock, it may not be the same as the time on your local clock.
Think of the Peace Clock as running on it's own time....a universal time for everybody to come together for prayer and thought..no matter what time it is anywhere in the world, the Peace Clock time is the same for everyone. Make sure your clock is synced with the world.
The clock runs on every page on this site and is also complemented with a digital countdown clock to assist in making users aware of exactly when the next prayer time begins. Please join us for the next session.

The Peace Symbol

The peace symbol used is the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament symbol. There are many symbols that signify peace. Please check the World Peace Signs page to view various symbols of peace from around the world. However, this one was chosen in the design of the Peace Clock as it is one of the most widely known and it is identified as a general symbol of peace around the world. Also, the nuclear disarmament connection also lends a hand in promoting a further step toward peace.
The Peace Dove

The dove of peace is as close to the universal sign of peace as we have in the world. It is non-discriminate and widely regarded as a symbol of peace amongst many religions and belief systems. The peace dove also represents a "hope for peace" and an offer of peace from one person to another. Often, the dove is represented to remind the viewers of its role as a messenger.
